Daniel is the Head of Workforce / People Development and has overall responsibility for the training function, with a specific responsibility for the development of a training regime, which ensures that the training needs of the industry are identified and met in line with their organisational objectives.

Daniel has built a long and diverse career within the agricultural sector, underpinned by hands-on experience, technical leadership, and industry training. Having grown up on a large dairy farm in New Zealand, he developed a strong practical foundation before progressing into farm management roles.

He subsequently spent several years travelling internationally, primarily working within large agricultural groups, including involvement in a 6,000-hectare arable farming operation. During this time, Daniel played a key role in carrying out agricultural harvests across multiple cropping systems and environments, gaining extensive exposure to large-scale arable production and diverse crop types.

Daniel later moved into a National Technical Manager role within the engineering and construction industry in New Zealand, where he was responsible for delivering and supporting large national projects. This role involved extensive stakeholder engagement, along with the development and delivery of technical training across the industry, including collaboration on major government-led initiatives. A key focus of this role was the introduction of new and innovative products, requiring education of the wider sector and senior decision-makers.

He then returned to the agricultural sector in the capacity of Agronomist and Regional Manager. In this role, Daniel led significant research and development activities focused on introducing and evaluating new products for the New Zealand market. His work spanned a broad range of sectors, including arable crops, vegetables, fruit, and viticulture, with a particular emphasis on crop performance, disease management, and sustainable production practices. In parallel with his professional career, Daniel has over 20 years’ involvement in the property sector as a property investor and small-scale developer. Over the past two decades, he has built and grown a property portfolio in New Zealand, where he remains actively involved in managing growth strategies, investment planning, and long-term asset development.

Throughout his career, Daniel has been heavily involved in industry training and knowledge transfer, developing and delivering technical education programmes to growers, advisors, and industry stakeholders across the agricultural sector.

He holds various training qualifications and professional recognitions, including Train-the-Trainer , and brings a depth of practical experience, technical expertise, and training capability to all aspects of his work.
