RMS Consulting has been in operation since 2007 and has been built on the experiences and knowledge of Owner, Billy Goodburn. The company is registered in Ireland with CRO 334598 and is tax registered.
The company has membership and recognition, through a number of international bodies including the International Security Industry Organisation (ISIO), the South African Security Officers Board, American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS International) and the Association of Irish Risk Managers (AIRM). The company is also registered as a specialist member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM).

Profile of Billy Goodburn: Owner
Billy has over 20 years international experience in the Security Industry primarily in the South African, Irish & UK private security industries and in the South African Defense Forces and Police Service. He laid the foundations for his commercial expertise with a UK and Irish based guarding company before moving onto the Senior Management Team of the Irish Security Industry Association, with a specific responsibility for the development of a training regime which ensures that the training needs of the Irish Security Industry are identified and met in line with the country's National Skills Strategy. He has also been an integral player in the drive to raise the standards of the security industry through his involvement in the development of industry specific Quality Assurance Scheme.
Billy chairs a number of groups and is a key figure in the industry as a representative to various bodies including Educators, Social Partners, Industry Sectors, Regulators, Government Ministerial Offices, Trade Associations, Funding Agencies, Security Congress of Ireland, An Garda Síochána and Standards Development at both a National and International Level.
He is Chairman of the Certification Focus Group within Skillnets Ltd, an enterprise-led support body whose mission is to enhance the skills of people in employment in Irish industry to support competitiveness and employability and is Vice Chair of the Training Committee within the Security Congress of Ireland and has active involvement in dealing with key stakeholders within the security sector. Some of these include the Private Security Authority, Employers Representatives, Employee Representatives, Funding Agencies and Various Educators (certification bodies and other government departments).
Billy has gained global recognition with his valued input in the development of an international standard for learning and development and is on the international committee TC 232, which is developing the new ISO standard. He is representative on CEN Committee 384 which is a European Standard for Airport & Aviation Security Services, currently being developed through the European Centre for Standardization (CEN).
In addition, he is a Member of a number of international bodies including the International Security Industry Organisation (ISIO), the South African Security Officers Board, registered at a senior management level, a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS International) and a member of the Association of Irish Risk Managers (AIRM). He is also an approved specialist member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM).
With over 20 years experience in the Security Industry he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise which ensures the highest level of quality in the services provided.
Profile of Martin Caffrey (MSecII): Security Consultant
Martin has over 30 years experience in the security sector, and was also a member of An Garda Síochána (Ireland's National Police Force) and the Irish Defense Forces.
Martin holds a Diploma in Security Management, is a recognised Industry Trainer and also holds a qualification as a trainer in Conflict Management. He also holds other recognised qualifications, in the security field, management development and areas of risk management.
Martin has been working with RMS consulting since its inception and is an asset to the organisations, with a wealth of Knowledge and experience.
He is a Director of the O.N.E (Organisation of National Ex-Servicemen and Women) and is Chairman of the 7th / 65th Battalion Association. He is also a member of the Security Institute of Ireland.
Profile of Lorcán Ó hÓbáin: Business Consultant
Lorcan is a UCD graduate with a Master of Business Studies Degree and has held a variety of positions in industry.
Lorcan has worked extensively in manufacturing companies in a variety of roles but specialising in operational and general management, including profit responsibility for three subsidiaries of a multinational print and packaging group.
Since 2002 Lorcan has managed his own consultancy practice which works with the owners of SMEs in the areas of business planning and team development to facilitate organisation change and growth. Lorcan also has extensive experience of working at an industry level to encourage firm cooperation to drive competitive advantage.
Lorcan is an experienced facilitator and specialises in assisting business leaders to formulate and develop their own business plans. He is also in the process of completing his Ph.D., on a part time basis, in Dublin City University. His research is examining the role of learning in developing the capability of Irish SMEs to purposefully alter their strategies in the face of changing environments.
Profile of Kevin J Reid: Business Skills Trainer & Performance Coach
Kevin has over 20 years experience in Irish and International business with an emphasis on training, education and coaching.
An expert in communications he has the ability to empathise with people at all organisational levels. His expertise, delivered through coaching and training allows people to learn, to develop, to bridge the ‘knowing-doing gap’, to take responsibility and to achieve their personal and business goals.
Kevin was a founding partner of the Potential Development Institute, the Institute for Sustainable Leadership and Education and formerly a Senior Training Consultant with Peter Hancock International and was Operations Manager for Fast track into Technology and is a Senior Consultant with SustainED. He worked with IBEC in various positions within Research & Information and the Social Policy Division.
He has designed over twenty business skills courses and delivered numerous FETAC programmes for the ISIT Skillnet, specialising in customer care. His security related clients include: AIB Capital Markets, An Garda Síochána, Bell Communications, Civil Defence, Eircom Phonewatch, G4S Monitoring and the Niscayah Group.
In his performance coaching he aims for the business goal of moving individuals and groups to a more empowered, high performing organisation as it invites creativity, builds confidence and generates a culture of continuous improvement.
He has a wealth of proven experience honed over many years in business. He has diplomas in Training and Development (with distinction), Information Studies, Conflict Management and Business, Executive and Personal Coaching.
He is a much in demand business skills trainer and performance coach and his clients include CEO’s, general managers, teams and entire organisations.
